Date: 11 December 2021
Time: 3-4pm
According to National Health Morbidity Survey Malaysia 2019, 3 in 10 Malaysian adults have high blood pressure. The risk of high blood pressure increases in people who are older, have a higher BMI, and have diabetes. Therefore, efforts in improving lifestyle and educating oneself could be beneficial in the management and prevention of hypertension.
This webinar is suitable for those who want to understand how nutrition and lifestyle can manage and prevent high blood pressure for oneself and others. In this webinar, we will learn about:
• What are high blood pressure and blood pressure levels
• To understand the relationship between sodium and blood pressure
• To identify sodium in food and how to read nutrition labels
• What we can do to control blood pressure through food (shopping, cooking) and lifestyle
This webinar is co-organised by the IMU Dietetics Final Year students and Genting Dementia Care Centre.
