Diagnostic Tools for Dementia

Live webinar:

25th September 2021 (Saturday), 10am – 11:30am

Early diagnosis of dementia is important, as early administration of care and potential treatments could allow for greater chances of therapeutic success. However, current diagnostic tools are dated, and some are not appropriate to specific cultures. Because of this, scientists around the world are finding new ways to aid clinicians in the diagnosis of dementia, ranging from novel imaging techniques to computer adaptive testing.

Apart from tools that support diagnosis, monitoring tools can be implemented as precautionary measures to help pick up subtle changes in memory of individuals who may be at risk of dementia. Ideally, these tools would be non-invasive, inexpensive and can be used in the comfort of one’s home.

Following the last webinar on diagnosis by Dr Bharathi, Dr Tee Lip Jin, Senior Scientific Executive at Genting Berhad and Regional Consultant for GT Diagnostics, will discuss current and future trends in diagnostic tools for dementia.

In this webinar, we discuss the various biomarkers of dementia (in particular, Alzheimer’s disease) and how they are utilised to create diagnostic tools. We will also discuss various professional diagnostic tools that assist clinicians, and readily deployable e-platform tools that anyone can use at home.
